Local area and beaches

The beach

The beach is only a 12 minute walk away.

The beach at Weybourne, Norfolk

The beach leads straight onto the cliffs which provide a scenic walk to the town of Sheringham. Or you can catch the Coast Hopper - a regular bus service - a great way to explore the rest of the coastline.

Holkham Bay, Norfolk

Holkham Beach

A great beach for all ages and requirements. From the youngest to the oldest, this beach is great—its huge, flat, safe and never too crowded

You can take the dog, fly a kite or swim in the shallow, warm water.

View over Blakeney

Cley and Blakeney nearby

Weybourne is also at the start of the shingle spit that makes Cley & Blakeney so famous (leading all the way to Blakeney Point). Seal trips are very popular.

Naturally, this is an area abundant with lots of fresh seafood to enjoy.

The nearby heathland and Paddy the dog!

Lots of walks and very varied countryside

Other great walks start from the village. Weybourne has a wide choice of style and habitat in the surrounding countryside including the heath, cliffs and marshes.

Sheringham Park

Sheringham Park

The village farmland backs on to National Trust Land at Sheringham Park, a fantastic walk at any time but especially good during June.

The 'Holt-Cromer ridge'

Geographically, to the south of the village is the 'Holt-Cromer ridge', the dumping ground of the glacier which once advanced this far from Scandinavia. Hence, the coastline is riddled with fossils which constantly appear at the surface of the eroding cliffs. It provides some stunning woods and countryside to walk through.

Community events

There are regular events at the Village Hall through out the week and all year round. Over the August Bank Holiday there is always a “Fun day” with dog show & beer tent as well as evening entertainment.
